The Coordinator of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) &#8211; investigation team, Santiago O\u00f1ate Laborde, stated in the Technical Secretariat&#8217;s release dated April 8th that the team &#8220;found reasonable grounds to believe that users of sarin as a chemical weapon in Ltamenah (Hama Governorate) on March 24 and 30, 2017, and chlorine gas on March 25, 2017, were individuals belonging to the Syrian Arab Air Force<strong>.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n<p>The team confirmed that the bombardment was conducted by military aircraft of the &#8220;Su-22&#8221; model and a helicopter belonging to the Syrian Air Force, targeting a hospital and its surroundings in the town, causing approximately 50 suffocation injuries<strong>.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n<p>According to the decision made during the conference of the States Parties on June 27, 2018, the technical secretariat will submit reports about the investigation team work to the Executive Council of the Organization and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, for revision. It demanded that the information must be kept and provided to the investigatory mechanism established by the United Nations General Assembly under Resolution 71\/248 {2016}, as well as any relevant investigative entities initiated under the authority of the United Nations.
